Since the mid 80’s I have been working during summers under the open sky. Always carrying with me my painting materials, while sitting on the rocks, I paint using oils, bays mainly of Kea, Tinos, Syros, on wood or on paper. When I can’t have oils with me, I always carry a book-shaped notebook and my watercolors kit. Little by little I discover that the monumental I was previously looking for by painting historical representations, I can now, after 1997, find in the mountainous masses of Aegean islands. As I proceed with my work, I want to reflect the transparency of the water, the “skin” of the mountain, the colours of the cliffs.
